To understand VinFast, we have to take a look back at some automotive history for a minute. There was a time when every car in America was made by an American company. Sure, we had some British cars over the years, and then after World War II more British, German, French, and Italian cars came over than ever before. VF9: Redefining Affordable Luxury EVs

VinFast hit a homerun with the VF9. While this is its first-ever three-row EV SUV, the Vietnamese EV company is quickly gaining respect in the market for doing something that no company outside of Tesla and Kia have been able to achieve, and at such a great price point. The VF8 Eco, with 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, can get to 60 mph in only 5.9 seconds, while the Plus model, with its 53 extra horsepower and 88 more torque, will hustle to 60 in less than 5.5 seconds.

The VF9, a larger three-row SUV with 402 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque, will sprint to 60 mph in about 6.5 seconds. That may not seem extremely fast, but it is a lot faster than the gas and hybrid versions of the three-row Toyota Grand Highlander, which will do the same deed in 8.3 and 7.8 seconds, respectively.
