Powering the VF8 is an 87.7 kWh battery pack that produces 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque in Eco trim and 402 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque for the Plus model. VinFast equips all cars with all-wheel drive as standard, something most other EVs can’t say they have until you spend thousands of dollars more on a higher trim level.

Cargo Space

Practicality doesn’t fall by the wayside either, as the VF8 has ample space for five passengers, their luggage, and room left over. Owners will find 13.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 48.4 cubic feet when folded flat. In the front trunk, or frunk, lies an extra 2.7 cu.ft.

More than anything, though, is the power of the 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display that shows every relevant bit of information for your car. More so, features like Camp Mode and Pet Mode that let you set a temperature for the interior while you enjoy hanging out.

Furthermore, with the 15.6-inch infotainment system, the VF8 is able to play 2,000 movies and TV shows on the screen when parked, thanks to Sony Pictures Entertainment and its free Sony RIDEVU service. If the car is in motion, passengers can watch content on devices that are connected to the in-car WiFi hotspot.

Excellent Display and HUD

When getting into the VF8, you will notice the beautiful and vibrant 15.6-inch touchscreen that controls everything in the vehicle, allowing drivers and passengers to have everything at their fingertips, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. A bright head-up display is also standard on all models, which is something EVs like the Rivian R1S and VW ID.4 don’t even have as an option (both cars cost more than the VF8, too). Both Eco and Pro models give occupants two USB-A ports up front, two USB-A ports, and a single USB-C port for rear passengers to keep all devices charged up.

A Warranty That Gives Confidence

One of the greatest standard features a vehicle can have is a good warranty. Prospective buyers of electric vehicles want to know they are truly covered if anything goes wrong with the battery system in the car. This is entirely understandable. While most EV manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Volkswagen, Tesla, and the like all have a nice 8-10 year warranty for their battery systems, they all have a hard mileage limit for their warranties. Mercedes-Benz has a 155,000-mile limit, which is the highest, and Genesis has a 124,000-mile limit. Tesla, Hyundai, Kia, VW, and Audi all have a 100,000-mile limit, and BMW only has an 80,000-mile warranty. VinFast, on the other hand, has a 10-year, unlimited-mile warranty on the battery system.
