He starts by creating a steel frame that he attaches working wheels to, and from there, cuts and trims wood panels to make up the body of the car.
A Complete Wooden Copy
But it’s not just a car made from wood. It is a perfect, identical copy of the company’s VF7, complete with the signature VinFast lighted logo on the front and rear, as well as an electric motor attached to the rear wheels and a working steering wheel. While this isn’t a car you’d want to drive down the street, it is a very cool and unique gift as it’s bigger than a dollhouse and can be driven around the yard. Amazingly, it’s also pretty close to a full-size replica of the real car.
Each Panel is Made with Care
More impressive is how the wood is crafted. Each panel, including the fenders, roof, and rear hatch, every inch, is perfectly cut and shaped to mimic the real car. The craftsman uses a circular saw to get the initial cut of the wood, then uses a band saw to make the wood panel to mimic the metal used to make the real-life car.
It Even Has a Working Interior
Oh, and possibly the most amazing thing of all, the wooden VinFast also has a full wooden interior that can seat five people. The end of the video shows the creator revealing it to his wife and children, with the vehicle seen driving around local roads at a slow speed to show that it actually works.
